Why do some women have to say such negative things about the size of your belly? I mean either you are too small and you arent eating enoughor you are too big and you are eating too much. Sometimes I get both. I mean I am going into my 6th month and I am showing but I just happen to carry small with my children (this is my 2nd pregnancy). One co-worker said that I was too big and was my doc concerned. Im like no, I dont think Im that big, most people think Im just chubby now. I was offended and it may be a little self-conscious. My stomach isnt that big compared to alot of other women I've seen that arent as far along as I am. How do I not let the negative comments get me down?

I swim 3 days a week and I am 7 months pregnant, I had an old guy say on Friday, "Wow, you are swimming pretty well for a fat girl!" and I said, "I'm pregnant." He said, "Oh, I know, I just am amazed at how big you are getting."
Thanks. A lot. I weighed 115 lbs before, I weigh 135 1bs now, I am right on target, but I get the opinions one way or another ALL THE TIME.
Ignore them, enjoy your pregnancy and your body, I do!

you know what? who the hell cares what she thinks? She isn't carrying your baby. She isn't you and she really shouldn't have any say in how you feel as a pregnant woman. It makes me so angry when people think they have the right to comment on something that has absolutely nothing to do with them. Don't give her that control in your life. She's an idiot and should be treated as such. Thank her for her idiotic concern and move on to more uplifting people. I'm righteously indignant for you! GLOW.....its the one time in our lives that its alright not to be stick figures...I"M LOVING IT...and I don't care if anyone else thinks...well anything about me for that matter. LOVE IT!!!!

I am 7 1/2 months and all baby...I have had both too...one girl told me today that my belly was "cute" and when I told her how far along I was she said "you're so small"...that made me feel good...I've had others say I am going tohave a huge baby...how they figure that when I have only gained 8 lbs so far is beyond me...but whatever you know what they say about opinions. My advice is to thank the people who compliment you and ignore the morons who think it is somehow socially acceptable to insult a pregnant woman...they aren't worth it!

I have a very big bump and people love to tell me that I lok like I am ready to have the baby now...it does annoy me as it has become so predictable....my tip (if you are hard faced enough) is to look at them blankly for a long moment and then start to talk about something totally unrelated to pregnancy..if you do it they will blush and realise that they are being rude....which they are!

I would try to ignore it, I do. If you and your Dr think you are fine then you are. For some reason people think that every pregnant woman wants everyone's opinon about everything. I don't know where they get that idea from. It gets really annoying. If I was by you and heard her say that I would have told her off for you. Take care and don't worry about other people..............worry about YOU!!
From
17 weeks (Everyone says I don't look Preggo at all)
I know where you are coming from.........

Well, in that particular situation I would have just said, "no, actually I am smaller than normal, but thank you for noticing". Its just one of those things you deal with when you're pregnant. I have always carried big and people that I know don't make comments by the time I'm 7 to 8 months because they don't want to hurt my feelings. After I give birth and am talking about how big I was they all chip in and say, "yeah, we thought so too but didn't want to say anything". Oh well, what you gonna do. If you don't like what they say then tell them or ask them who they are comparing you to....they obviously are not doctors. The only person I listen to about my size is my doctor because he knows what is healthy and what is not. I actually have to go in for an extra ultrasound in a few weeks because my uterus is measuring WAY too big. I know that I'm big so it doesn't bother me if someone else says I am too

I know how you feel! I work in retail needless to say I get stupid comments all the time. I'm 25 weeks preganant and I have heard everything from I"m to big...I should stop eating so much.. To I have such a small stomach and I look great! I just try not to let it bother me! As long as you know your eating healthy and taking care of yourself that is all that matters!
