I guess by asking this question, I'm inviting more of the same OSU bashing that seems to be non-stop. However, he make some valid points.
Does any true NCAA fan out there acknowledge that OSU is just playing their schedule and not losing? Comments?

Any comments on Dan Wetzels column on OSU and the BCS?
Ohio State had 3 Top 25 teams scheduled at the start of the season. Not their fault the Big 10 was very average this year. You play with the cards dealt and you have to win...
James and Stonewall still drinking the Big 12 Kool Aid!
Strength of schedule
Ohio State 68.63 ( 63)
Kansas 62.69 (106)
Oklahoma 67.71 (72)
Layman terms Ohio State has the 63rd hardest, Oklahoma 72nd and Kansas the 103rd. How do you get cupcakes and playing harder teams from this in Kansas and Oklahoma case?
You guys never learn.......

It's interesting that you have asked this question because I always read Wetzels' column. I also responded to him by email. My answer was as follows:
I agree with your comments. The problem I have given Ohio State's easy schedule and high ranking is how does the NCAA look Boise State square in the eye and say, 'yeah but this situation does not apply to you concerning your ranking last year.'

OSU hasn't taken care of business and the DWs inability to recognize that most average sports fans look at the Big 10 as a big joke.
Last years 2 premier bowl games were the peak of the hypocrisy of a conference that is suppose to be elite. The hype built up made me go green everytime I had to read and hear about how good OSU and MI were and how they deserved to be playing each other in the NC game.
Honestly, LSU and Oregon should be 1/2. Last year Florida/USC proved that they were far and above the Big 10 elite who were supppose to be more superior in every way.
This years OSU and MI teams are no where near as good - what do you think is going to happen when they actually play a really good team?
Same ol'story!

I'll acknowledge that OSU deserves to be #1. All they did was win every game they played. If LSU and Oregon think they should be ranked higher, then they should have done the same. And if they think OSU isn't that good, well then #2 will have an easy championship game.
We'll see if OSU wins out; they still have to play Illinois, who can beat you if you're not careful, and Michigan, a perennial threat. But if LSU and Oregon want to be #1, they'll need to learn to show up every week, just like the Buckeyes.

I agree with Wetzel to a certain extent, and more with Zinger. OSU is a good team. Hell, they might actually be the best team, but we don't know because they don't play anybody. They had way too many in-state cupcakes on thier non-conference schedule. The pollsters shouldn't be afraid to admit they made a mistake at the pre-season polls and be able to jump up the good teams. There is too much turnover in college football to be afraid to move teams up and down. It seems to be too much of a popularity contest in favor of the media darling teams. I doubt it will happen, but if Kansas beats Mizzou and Oklahoma (assuming that they don't lose except to Kansas), and they don't leap-frog OSU into the #1 position - you will know that the system is totally messed up. I also believe that the Big-10 and Pac-10 have a tremendous advantage getting to the championship game without playing a conference championship.

Yes OSU is not losing but neither is KU who has a tougher schedule by just being in the Big 12 conference so why aren't they ranked #1. And he says that Oregon, Oklahoma, %26amp; LSU lost games they weren't supposed to lose but at least they were teams that deserved to be ranked higher than any team that OSU has played. So if OSU deserves to be #1 just because they are undefeated, KU and Hawaii deserve to be ranked the same because they have both beat their opponents without a doubt whether it is a good team or not. But, whoever makes it to the BCS games and the NC (in my opinion Oregon vs. LSU) maybe then it will prove how bad the BCS rankings are just like it proved last year when obviously OSU should not have been playing. And the least they could do would be put in effect the +1 so that the top 4 teams will at least all have a shot.
